The Rose Run is a re-birth of the original vision established nearly ten years ago by a group of area residents. Their love for running led them to envision an annual event hosted in their home town of Richland, Michigan. In 2016, Richland lost one of their own while serving in the line of duty, Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose. Collin, a 2006 graduate of Gull Lake High School began his career with the Richland Village Police. In 2011, he joined the  Wayne State University Police Department as a K-9 Officer. Collin, an avid supporter of causes involving fallen officers, rode in the Police Unity Tour, where he proposed to his fiancée.  The main purpose of the Unity Tour is to bring public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices.

In honor of Collin, The Rose Run July 4th race will be dedicated to the legacy and memory of Sergeant Collin Rose. We at The Rose Run are privileged to have the opportunity to "back the blue". Please join us as we work toward making our world safer while at the same time honor one who has given the ultimate sacrifice, Sergeant Collin James Rose.
